It assists the plant in nutrient absorption throughout its life cycle. Humic acid acts as a chelator. Once added, it improves the soil's ability to retain nutrients. This means your soil retains all added nutrients until your plant is ready to use them.

When nutrients are ready for use, the chelating properties of humic acid transform nutrients into a form easily absorbable by the plant. Consequently, essential immobile micronutrients, such as calcium, become easier to absorb. Humic acid also promotes the colonization of mycorrhizal fungi in the plant's rhizosphere.
